This Privacy Policy describes how the developer of Contacts ("we", "us", "our") deals with information arising from use of the application (the "App"). The App is a contacts and dialling tool: it makes and answers calls, keeps a contact list, records a call history, identifies who is calling, and screens out numbers you do not wish to hear from. Installing the App, or continuing to use it, means you accept the practices below. Anyone who does not accept them should not install it.

1. Categories of Data

Within the permissions granted, the App deals with four categories:

• Contact entries. Names and telephone numbers on the handset, used to build the contact list and to match an incoming number to a known person.
• Call records. Entries from the call log together with numbers dialled and received, used for the history views and caller identification.
• Blocked and reported numbers. Kept with a device identifier so filtering persists across sessions.
• Technical and diagnostic signals. Handset make and model, Android release, App build, language, device identifiers, aggregate feature-use counts, crash traces and performance logs.

Contact entries and call records are processed on the handset. Neither is sold, and neither is passed to any party outside those named in this policy.

2. Permissions Requested

• Contacts (read and write) — displaying, creating, amending and arranging the contact list.
• Phone (CALL_PHONE, READ_PHONE_STATE) — initiating calls and detecting an active call.
• Call Log — constructing call history and recent-call views.
• Notifications — announcing incoming calls and blocked-call activity.

No permission is sought before the feature requiring it. Each may be revoked in Android settings, whereupon the dependent feature is suspended until granted afresh.

3. Purposes of Processing

Processing serves these ends only: delivering contact management, dialling, call history, caller identification and blocking; maintaining the spam filter; preserving stability and correcting faults; measuring aggregate usage to guide development; presenting advertising on the free tier; and activating and restoring subscriptions. Personal information is never sold or rented.

4. Advertising

Advertising is shown to users without a subscription and is supplied by third-party networks, among them Google AdMob. Such networks may read the handset advertising identifier and comparable technical signals in order to select an advertisement, personalised where the law permits. Android settings allow the identifier to be reset or removed and personalisation disabled at any point. While a subscription remains active the App displays no advertising.

5. Subscriptions and Payment Data

An optional subscription removes advertising and unlocks the premium functionality. Payment is administered entirely by the Google Play billing system. Card numbers, billing addresses and equivalent particulars are received and held by Google under Google's own privacy policy; they do not reach us at any stage. What we obtain is an anonymous purchase token, used exclusively to enable the subscription and to restore it following reinstallation or a change of handset. Purchase records are retained solely for the period prescribed by tax and accounting law.

6. Third-Party Components

The App incorporates Google Play Services; Firebase for analytics and crash reporting; Google AdMob for advertising; and Google Play billing for subscription payments. Each is governed by a privacy policy of its own, which we encourage you to consult. The manner in which these providers process data is determined by them, not by us.

7. Security

Appropriate technical and organisational safeguards are applied to the information the App processes. Notwithstanding these measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission can be described as entirely secure, and absolute security cannot therefore be guaranteed.

8. Controls Retained by You

At any time you may grant or withdraw permissions in Android settings, amend or delete contact entries, clear the call history, release a blocked number, disable advertising personalisation, or uninstall the App — uninstallation removing its locally held data from the handset.

9. Minors

The App is not directed at persons under 13 years of age, or under 16 in regions whose law establishes that threshold, and personal information is not knowingly collected from children. Any such information received in error is deleted upon identification. A subscription entered into by a minor is valid only where a parent or legal guardian consented in advance; enabling purchase authentication within Google Play prevents charges from completing on a child's handset absent an adult's approval. 10. Rights Conferred by Regional Law

Persons in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland hold rights of access, rectification, erasure and restriction in respect of their personal data, together with the right to withdraw consent and to lodge a complaint with a Data Protection Authority. Residents of several United States jurisdictions enjoy comparable entitlements, including the right to opt out of any sale or sharing of personal information and of targeted advertising. Correspondence to the address below suffices to exercise any such right.

11. Deletion of Data

Use of the App requires no account. Contact entries, call history and block lists reside on the handset and are removed when deleted within the App or when the App is uninstalled. Should you wish anything retained by us to be erased, write to us and the request will be actioned within a reasonable period.

12. Amendment

This policy may be amended from time to time. The version currently operative, bearing its effective date, is invariably the version published on this page, and continued use following an amendment constitutes acceptance of it.
